Cheresa Renae "Cherie" Bourgoyne

Cherie with sons Coby and Tyler, 2009

Cheresa Renae BOURGOYNE, also called "Cherie", is my youngest daughter. She was born at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi.  She grew up in Columbia, Marion County, Mississippi and attended school within the Columbia School District except for the 1994-95 school year when she attended West Marion High School in Foxworth, Mississippi.

Through the Years

In February 1997, Cherie gave birth to a son, Damon Tyler ROWLEY.  The following year she enrolled in the Computer Programming course at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Pearl River County, Mississippi.  She remained on the Deans List through all semesters and was a Special Honors graduate with a GPA of 3.8.  Cherie received her Associate of Applied Science degree, Computer Programming in May 2001.

In June 2002, Cherie had her second child, Coby Gerrick ROWLEY.  Coby was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate which required multiple physicians visits and medical interventions. Therefore, Cherie remained at home to tend to Coby's special needs.  She returned to work in spring of 2003 as a data entry specialist with Bonus Stores, Inc. Her employment there was brief due to a company wide employee lay-off.  In December of the same year, Cherie secured a position as customer representative with Republic Finance, Inc in Columbia, Mississippi.

Cherie later decided that she wanted to be a hair stylist.  In fall of 2005, she enrolled in the cosmetology program at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi and graduated the following spring.  During the next 4 years or so, Cherie gained a great deal of experience as a hair stylist by working with well known companies like the J.C. Penney hair salon, Fantastic Sam's, Super Cuts & Regis Hair Salon, all in Hattiesburg.

UPDATE 7/14/16:
Cherie & Her Children
A fractured wrist prevented her from doing hair for a while and during that time frame Cherie allowed to cosmetology license to expire.  She returned to work in January 2012 as a cashier with Murphy Oil Company and remained there until February 2013 when she moved to Poplarville, Mississippi.  In September 2014, she returned to Columbia.  She has since had back surgery and remains at home.
